March 30 Math Teacher Puzzle: Jaime Escalante, Presidential Awardee | Review

March 30 is a day to remember Jaime Escalante, a math teacher who developed methods to enable struggling students to ultimately take AP Calculus in high school.  This mixed review has these topics: Power of a Power Property, Negative Exponent Property, solve a multi-step equation, and area of a series of rectangles to estimate the area under a curve. Escalante received the Presidential Medal for Excellence in Education in 1988, and he is the subject of the 1988 movie, Stand and Deliver.
